P Moodley Attorneys Inc. was established by Poovindrin Moodley (Poovi), a highly experienced environmentalist with a strong professional ethic and a passion for environmental law, sustainability, and good governance.

The firm was founded with a vision to not only practice law, but to apply sound environmental management principles within its operations and legal services, as part of its social and environmental commitments

Poovindrin Moodley (Poovi) brings a unique combination of legal and technical expertise to his practice, as he is an admitted Attorney of the High Court of South Africa and a registered Environmental Assessment Practitioner (EAP). This distinctive blend of legal and technical expertise, coupled with extensive public and private sector experience, positions Poovi to deliver holistic, informed and practical legal solutions.  

His early career in Environmental Management involved working as a laboratory shift controller at David Whiteheads & Sons, focusing on water testing, quality assurance, and SABS testing procedures. Poovi’s expertise expanded into municipal and geospatial development planning during his tenure as a GIS Technician in 2005. With a career spanning over 18 years in the public sector at the Department of Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs (EDTEA), Poovi developed extensive expertise in Environmental Impact Assessments, Waste Management Licences, SPLUMA applications, Section 24G and Section 30A applications, compliance and enforcement matters, Air Emission Licence applications, and mining-related applications, while serving as an EAP and a designated Environmental Management Inspector (EMI). 

  Poovi’s Practical Vocational Training under the guidance of the Directors at HSG Attorneys Inc. provided him with comprehensive experience in a broad range of civil litigious and non-litigious matters, culminating in his admission as an Attorney.
